From the 11th to the 13th of April 2024, history was mas made as Rus Education proudly organized the first-ever Indo-Russian Education Summit. The summit, held in New Delhi, served as a dynamic platform for fostering educational collaboration and cultural exchange between India and Russia.
Distinguished leaders, educators, and stakeholders from both nations convened to explore opportunities for mutual growth and innovation in the field of education. Over the course of three days, participants engaged in insightful discussions, workshops, and networking sessions aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and promoting academic excellence.
The event was graced by the presence of some eminent personalities including Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of India HE Denis Alipov, Mr. Denis Gribov, Deputy Minister of Education, Russian Federation; Mr. Tatiana Semenova, Deputy Minister of Health, Russian Federation; Retd. Air Marshal Dr. Pawan Kapoor, Mr. Dinesh Singla, Education Expert representing both India and Russia; Mr. Pavel Anatolyevich Shevtsov Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Humanitarian Cooperation “Rossotrudnichestvo,” Mr. Oleg Osipov, Director, Russian House in New Delhi and others.
The three-day event commenced with an inaugural address by His Excellency Denis Alipov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of India. He emphasized the historic significance of the Indo-Russian Education Summit, the first of its kind, dedicated to fostering educational collaboration and innovation. Highlighting the mutual recognition of academic degrees, he also noted the substantial growth potential in the number of Indian students pursuing higher education in Russia, citing increased scholarship opportunities offered by the Russian Government, from 200 to 500 specifically. Further, the day 1 of the grand Indo-Russian Education Summit includes welcome address by the Mr. Denis Gibrov, Deputy Minister of Education, Russian Federation, Mrs. Tatiana Semenova, Deputy Minister of Health, Russian Federation; Mr. Oleg Osipov, Director of Russian House in New Delhi; and Mr. Pavel Anatolyevich Shevtsov Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Humanitarian Cooperation “Rossotrudnichestvo”.
The event moved ahead with panel discussions and round table conferences ingnting thoughtful conversations on joint efforts in education to drive innovation, cultural exchange, and socioeconomic development in both countries.
The second day of the Indo-Russian Education Summit soared with excitement and enthusiasm. More than 1,400 students actively engaged with over 50 esteemed universities across diverse disciplines, from Medicine and Engineering to IT & Aviation, exploring numerous career pathways. Notably, over 300 students have already embarked on their academic journeys, having found their ideal universities.
Day 2 of the Indo-Russian Education Summit concluded on a jubilant note. Esteemed delegates not only shared invaluable experiences and expertise but also savored the vibrant flavors of India at the Gala Dinner held in the Russian House, New Delhi. The evening was adorned with cultural performances, showcasing India’s rich cultural tapestry.
The event resumed on the third day as all our esteemed dignitaries gathered once again in the hall of the prestigious Le Méridien New Delhi for the historic meeting of the Russian-Indian Association for Cooperation in the Field of Science and Education. With an aim of bringing together stakeholders to one platform, this meeting was attended by some of the leading personalities in the field of education including Mr. Oleg Osipov, Director of Russian House in New Delhi; Mr. Pavel Anatolyevich Shevtsov Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Humanitarian Cooperation “Rossotrudnichestvo”; Dr. Dinesh Singla, Education Expert representing both India and Russia; and Retd. Air Marshal Dr. Pawan Kapoor, Technical Advisor, Rus Education. Moreover, the day witnesses the various groundbreaking decision including the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and the Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov, fostering international collaboration and partnerships.
Further, amidst the Summit, our delegates hold the chance to visit some of the leading universities of India including the Sharda Unviersity and Hospital Group, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, and Appollo Hospitals.
Finally, the Indo-Russian Education Summit ended with the Russian delegates visit to the Rus Education headoffice. The Indo-Russian Education Summit 2024 underscored the commitment of both nations to elevate their educational systems and foster meaningful partnerships that will shape the future of learning and innovation. As the summit concluded, participants left inspired and energized, ready to embark on a new era of cooperation and knowledge sharing between India and Russia.
