According to the present era, Post-graduation degrees from only five English-speaking countries- The U.S., UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada; are recognized in India by India’s Medical Education Regulator. PG Degrees from Russia and China are still not valid in India.
The Board of Governors of the Medical Council of India (MCI) has now reportedly decided to recognize the Postgraduate Degrees earned by MBBS Doctors Abroad provided they clear the DNB (Diplomate of National Board) exam. Soon these doctors would be allowed to practice in any government or private hospital in India.
Taking a step in this direction, where India should have more Doctors! The Government has asked India’s Medical Education Regulator to initiate more reforms for building a pool of specialist Doctors in India.
