Orenburg State Medical University Conducts Orientation Ceremony For First Year Students

Orenburg State Medical University (OrSMU) recently conducted the Orientation Ceremony to welcome the newly enrolled students for the academic year 2022-23. The ceremony was conducted through a live stream on various social media platforms of Rus Education and the university.

The ceremony witnessed Associate Prof. Dr Mironchev Anton, Dean for International Students, welcoming the students and briefing them about their upcoming life as a student of OrSMU. Joining Prof. Anton, Air Marshal Dr Pawan Kapoor, Vice Chairman Rus Education and Dr Dinesh Singla, Director, of Rus Education joined the ceremony from India.

The inaugural address of the ceremony was conveyed by Air Marshal Dr Pawan Kapoor (Retd.), Vice Chairman, Rus Education. He congratulated the students for making an excellent choice of pursuing their dream of becoming a doctor with OrSMU and wished the students good luck on this new journey. 

Taking forward the address to the students, Prof. Dr Mironchev Anton also welcomed the fresh batch of students who would soon be joining the university to fulfil their dream of becoming a doctor. He further stressed the importance of being a doctor and the opportunities, success and respect it offers, if the students are determined enough to overcome the hardship.

He further detailed the students about their upcoming journey. He informed that the students would likely be arriving at the university by the mid of October and their classes would be starting from 1st November 2022 onwards. In the time between, the students would be required to complete the official procedures and required health check-ups.

About the course curriculum in the first year, he stated that the students are required to have a basic knowledge of the Russian language and hence would be required to study it as a subject in the first year. Apart from it, Latin being the language of the discipline, is also taught to the students from the first year onwards. The list of subjects in the first year includes- Medical Biology, Physiology, Histology, Anatomy, Pathology, Biological Physics, Biochemistry, Nursing, etc. The anatomy is further taught under clinical anatomy and topographical anatomy to give needful experience to the students.

He also stated that the highly advanced simulation centre at the university is the same as that used in Max Super Speciality Hospital, India, to keep the learning more interactive and engaging. He further listed the rules and regulations that the students must abide by during the course of their stay and study at the university.

Along with academics, he also emphasized the importance of maintaining the health of the students and the arrangement done by the university to ensure it. He states that the students are constantly indulged in physical training in the form of gyms as well as various seasonal sports all throughout the year.

The students after their arrival are divided into various groups of 15 and are given schedules accordingly. This helps the university maintain optimal strength in its classroom and avoid overcrowding.

The entire admission process of the university is based upon the merits gained in class-12 in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, NEET Score and in accordance with the latest issued guidelines by the National Medical Commission of India (NMC).

Towards the end, Dr Dinesh Singla addressed the doubts of various students regarding the books they need to carry. He stated that all the recommended books can be availed at the university campus and if required, Rus Education would be facilitating all these books in the electronic format.

He further assured the students that, Rus Education will always be supporting them and take care of all their needs throughout their course of study.

The ceremony concluded successfully with all the newly enrolled students getting the necessary guidance about their upcoming journey and various aspiring students also got a peek into the university and the student life it offers.
