NTA to Reconduct NEET (UG) 2024: Grace Marks Cancelled for 1563 Candidates

On June 13th, 2024, the National Testing Agency (NTA) released a public notice announcing the re-conduct of NEET (UG) 2024 for the 1563 affected candidates. These candidates experienced time loss during the originally scheduled examination on May 05, 2024, and were awarded compensatory marks. 

The NEET (UG) – 2024 which was originally conducted on May 05, 2024, by the National Testing Agency (NTA) from 02:00 to 05:20 P.M. (IST) at 4750 Centres in 571 cities (including 14 cities abroad) was conducted for more than 24 lakh candidates. The result for the same was declared on June 04, 2024, where over 13 lakh candidates qualified, with 1563 candidates being given compensatory marks due to time loss during the exam. 

Following an in-depth examination and consideration of all relevant aspects by the High Powered Committee, the NTA has decided to reconduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) [NEET (UG)] – 2024 on June 23, 2024, specifically for the affected candidates who received “compensatory marks.”

Key Notes:

  1. The scorecards of the 1563 affected candidates issued on June 4, 2024, will be cancelled, and their actual scores will be emailed to them respectively.
  1. The re-examination will only be conducted for the 1563 affected candidates who wish to reappear for the exam.
  1. The results of the candidates who do not wish to appear for the re-examination will be declared based on the actual scores obtained in the May 05, 2024 examination, without compensation.
  1. The marks of the candidates who will appear for the re-examination will be considered as the final marks, and the marks obtained on the basis of the May 05, 2024, examination will be disregarded.

Please be aware that admit cards will be provided to the respective candidates, and fresh scorecards will be issued on the NTA website following the examination.
