January 18, 2025

The National Testing Agency (NTA) on January 16th, 2025, issued a public notice that the National Medical Commission (NMC) has decided to conduct the NEET (UG) 2025 in Pen and Paper mode (OMR Based). The exam will also be conducted on a single day and in a single shift. Earlier, after the incident that happened during the NEET (UG) 2024, it was speculated that the exam would be conducted in a Computer-based format.

According to Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, NEET (UG) serves as a uniform examination for admission to undergraduate medical courses across all disciplines, including BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, and BHMS in India. This standardized test is mandatory for ensuring transparency, consistency, and fairness in medical admissions nationwide.

Additionally, the Military Nursing Service (MNS) aspirants must also qualify NEET (UG) for admission to B.Sc. Nursing Course conducted at the Armed Forces Medical Services Hospitals. This requirement aligns with the effort to maintain a standardized evaluation process for all medical-related courses.
