With an aim to foster camaraderie between students from different nations, Orenburg Presential School conducts the National Cuisine Days monthly. This month, Indian students from Orenburg State Medical University participated by displaying and wowing the young cadets of Orenburg with Indian cuisine and further entertaining them with captivating dance performances, from the elegant Bharatnatyam to the energetic Bollywood dance and Punjabi dance.
Dr. Ashok Patel, a representative of Indian students at Orenburg State Medical University, and Marina Shamova, head of the non-profit organization “Promoting the Development of Eastern Culture ‘Jani’” and an Indian dance teacher, spoke about the deep-rooted Russian-Indian relations and the unique characteristics of Indian cuisine. They highlighted the generous use of spices in Indian cooking, both in savory dishes and desserts.
At the event, the cadets and other attendees were immersed in the rich cultural tapestry of India through Indian Cuisines. They learned about Indian culture and cuisines including the ancient healing drink which is about a 4000-year history.
