Holi Celebrations 2023 at Mari State University

As the country recently celebrated the festival of Holi with much enthusiasm, Indian students studying MBBS in Russia at one of the top government universities of Russia, Mari State University (MarSU) also celebrated the spirit of the festival in Yoshkar-Ola, Mari El Republic, Russia.

Mari State University has always been a preferred choice among Indian students not only for its quality of education but also for its colourful and happening student life. The university frequently organises the celebrations of various traditional festivals. More recently, the university witnessed a grand celebration on the occasion of Holi. 

The festival is celebrated across the country with various names such as Dhulendi, Rangpanchami, Phaguwa, Yaosang, Dol Jatra, Ukuli / Manjal Kuli, Dola, Shigmo, Phakuwah, etc and is a much anticipated day for the people of all ages. 

The celebration was organised by the Indian Students’ Association in association with Rus Education at the campus of MarSU. The festival celebrations witnessed 1600+ Indian students including Ukraine returning medical students of India joining in the festivities.

The celebration was joined by the Rector of the university, Prof. Mikhail Nikolaevich Shvetsov, Rector, who joined the fun and had a great time celebrating the festival of colours with all the students and faculty members of the university. He was also joined by Dr Rohit Chaudhary, Representative of Indian students in MarSU, who actively ensured the comfort and availability of all the necessities for the students.
