On the glorious evening of 18th March 2023, Rus Education welcomed its pride, the former students of MBBS in Russia who have recently qualified for the Indian medical licensing exam, Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), for a grand FMG Felicitation Ceremony 2023 in Russian House in New Delhi.
The evening witnessed several renowned accolades joining in the memorable ceremony to congratulate and bless the new generation of doctors with their wisdom. The list of guests included Mr Oleg Osipov, Director & Ms Elena Barman, Head of the Education Department from Russian House in New Delhi and Mr Viktor Garelikh, Representative of Russian Embassy along with the management of Rus Education- Prof S.K Washim, Chairman, Air Marshal Dr Pawan Kapoor, Vice Chairman and Mr Syed I Rigan, Managing Director.
Dr Dinesh SIngla, Director along with Ms Priya Malhotra, Assistant Director, Rus Education hosted the ceremony and warmly welcomed the chief guests of the evening- the proud parents and new doctors.
The ceremony commenced the traditional way with the honorary guests lighting the diyas, to mark the beginning of a memorable evening. Air Marshal Dr Pawan Kapoor welcomed the proud faces with his generous and wise words. He emphasized that though it’s an important day for all the new doctors as they have qualified FMGE, their actual learning has just begun. He stated, “The journey of medicine never ends. Universities teach you the knowledge of medicine but life teaches you the art of medicine. There is no destination in medical sciences and therefore you have to remain current and dynamic in every way.”
Ms Elena Barman also addressed the Russia-returned doctors and their proud parents and shared her happiness on seeing the former students transformed into doctors. She expressed her delight at how these former students have successfully imbibed the Russian culture and accommodated their Indian roots and thus getting the best of both worlds.
Prof. S.K. Washim also took to the stage to personally interact with these former students of MBBS in Russia who are also his juniors. He congratulated them and their parents on successfully reaching the day when their dreams and aspirations have finally turned into reality. He again focused that though the students have crossed one of their biggest hurdles, they are yet to learn the complexities of lessons of life.
Ms N.V. Minaeva, Rector of Perm State Medical University, Prof Mikhail Shvestov, Rector, Mari State University, and Prof. Miroshnichenko I.V., Rector, Orenburg State Medical University also sent congratulatory messages to their former students.
The Indian Representatives in top government medical universities of Russia- Dr Vikas Saxena (PSMU) and Dr Rohit Chaudhary (OrSMU) also shared their happiness via voicemail on this achievement of their students.
The new doctors were then called onto the stage and guests awarded them a token of appreciation. Later on, several students and parents also shared their individual experiences of studying MBBS in Russia- the challenges they faced and how they overcame them.
The ceremony concluded with the parents, new doctors, and the team of Rus Education, getting together for a group photograph, to capture the moment and celebrate in the years to come.
The evening ended beautifully with the dear guests enjoying cocktails, dinner, some good music, grooves and chatter about achievements and upcoming success.
