On November 5th, 2024, Rus Education celebrated a landmark moment as our esteemed Technical Advisor, Air Marshal (Dr.) Pawan Kapoor (Retd.), AVSM, VSM, and BAR, received the prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award in the Healthcare Industry” at the FICCI 16th Healthcare Excellence Awards 2024. This momentous achievement celebrates his remarkable contributions towards healthcare excellence.
Dr. Pawan Kapoor’s illustrious career in healthcare and medical education has been characterized by unwavering commitment, exceptional vision, and transformative leadership. He concluded his distinguished service in the Armed Forces as a Director-General of Medical Services (IAF), a position he held until his retirement on December 31, 2017.
In his role as a Chairman of the Steering Committee at NABH and as the Honorary Vice Chancellor of Lincoln American University, Georgetown in Guyana, he has made remarkable contributions that have raised standards in the healthcare and medical education fields. Additionally, Dr. Kapoor was instrumental in developing strategic plans for the AMC Centre & College in Lucknow and improving the recruitment protocols to meet the growing demands for medical officers.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kapoor has earned numerous awards and accolades, including the Vishist Seva Medal (VSM) ) in 2009 and 2017, the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) in 2018, and the COAS Commendation in 1981, 2004, and 2008. His accolades include being the only AFMS officer awarded the prestigious Col. Pyarelal Gold Medal and receiving the Order of Royal Emblem from the Sultan of Oman in 1984.
After his retirement, Dr. Kapoor undertook the role of a Technical Advisor at Rus Education, where his expertise and dedication have been instrumental in shaping the academic journey of countless medical aspirants. Through his invaluable guidance and unwavering commitment, he has elevated the standards of medical education support at Rus Education, ensuring that students have access to quality resources and opportunities to excel in their careers.
