National Board of Examination (NBE) conducts the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) or MCI Screening Test for Indian and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI). The purpose of this examination for the medical students having a degree of MBBS from Russia; is to obtain a provisional or permanent registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or any State Medical Council (SMC). FMGE is conducted twice a year- December & June.
The concerned authority has announced the FMGE exam schedule; which is scheduled for 28th June 2019. The mode of conducting FMGE will be on a Computer-based platform and the application form will be released in the second week of May. Only the candidates, who will successfully fulfill the eligibility criteria of FMGE 2019; will be allowed to register online for the Screening Test. FMGE or MCI Screening Test Application forms, for June 2019 can be submitted only online from 15th April 2019 to 06th May 2019. Also, an information bulletin for every relevant detail will be available on the same website of NBE.
As per the eligibility conditions, mentioned in the public notice by NBE; all medical graduates must possess the medical qualification confirmed by the Indian Embassy of the particular country. The students pursuing MBBS in Russia, who wish to practice their medical career in India; should study MBBS in Russia from the Top Medical University of Russia approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI), only then he/she will be able to appear for FMGE or MCI Screening Test.
FMGE 2019 June session will be an online test that will be categorized into two parts- Part A & Part B. 150 questions will be in each part and only 150 minutes will be allotted to complete the session.
Candidates, who will secure 150/300; will be shortlisted in the results of FMGE 2019. Last year, approximately a total of 9,274 Indian nationals appeared for FMGE 2018, June session.
