On February 17, 2019, the first National Conference and Annual General Body Meeting (ADDCON 2019) was held at Hotel Samrat Chanakyapuri. The event was organized by the Association of DNB doctors turning the spotlight on the subject of Affordable Medical Education and Health Care. This can eventually lower the pressure on the currently skewed doctor-patient ratio.
We know our services have enabled thousands of students to establish a stable medical career across the globe and we further wish to enhance the reach of all medical aspirants to avail Quality Higher Education in the field of Medicine. Studying MBBS from Abroad without getting stuck in a DEBT-TRAP is our primary motive.
ADDCON 2019 witnessed the presence of some eminent personalities like Dr. Jateen Ukrani who welcomed the gathering with his determining words followed by a brilliant speech by Dr. (Wg Cdr) Arvind Gautam and Dr. Vaibhav Bharat, who overspread everybody’s minds by talking about the medical education in Pre NEET and Post NEET era. The conference was also actively occupied by the Governing body members of ADDCON.
The attendance also included the valuable presence of Air Marshal (Dr) Pawan Kapoor, AVSM, VSM and BAR (Retd), Former Director-General of Medical Services (IAF), and the Vice Chairman of Rus Education, who was invited as the Chief Guest of the conference. He spoke about the necessity of affordable medical education in the country and how it can be helpful for feasible healthcare. He also enlightened the attendees by adding on about the shortage of doctors in the country and the high cost of private colleges which make it difficult for most of the families to pursue medical study.
The conference also had a strong panel discussion which included analysis on feasible medical education in the country. Panelists Adv Amit Kuma, Air Marshal (Dr) Pawan Kapoor, and Dr. Grover firmly discussed the current high cost of medical education in India and the alternatives for the issue to make it affordable for the public. Dr. Pawan Kapoor also spoke about the need for development on the accessibility of medical education.
Air Marshal Dr. Pawan Kapoor also highlighted that medical research should be an essential part of undergraduate medical education and there should be one simple guideline for the assessment whether it is percentile or percentage basis for NEET (UG), NEET (PG), and FMGE (The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination, also known as MCI Screening Test).
The panel also debated on generic vs. branded medicines, to which Dr. A. Prasad and Dr.P. Singh added on about the affordability and efficacy of generic medicines.
Air Marshal Dr. Pawan Kapoor also inspired the audience by his experiences in the field of medicine and the present and future of medicines in term of feasibility. Air Marshal Dr. Pawan Kapoor graced the event and gave his contribution as a chief guest and an orator in the ADDCON 2019.
ADDCON 2019 turned out to be a strong informative event on a brilliant topic that was both discussed and delivered powerfully.
