Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, several lives and other things are at stake. There had been many petitions that the parents and students raised to postpone or cancel the NEET 2020 examination. Earlier this month, 11 students from 11 different states sought the Supreme Court’s permission to postpone the NEET 2020 examination until after normalcy is restored in the country.
In today’s update, the Supreme Court headed by Justice Arun Mishra has decided to dismiss the pleas made by the petitioners. The Supreme Court believed that the further the competitive exam is postponed, the higher the loss to the country and the student’s academic year.
NEET 2020 examination will, therefore, be held as scheduled on September 13, 2020. With this decision, the court has also informed that the exam will be held with adequate precautions for the safety of the students and their parents.
Nearly 16 lakh students registered for NEET 2020. The NTA has given several options for the students to opt for the nearest center and at the same time, NTA has also claimed that the number of exam centers has been increased by almost double to ensure the safety of the students.
This decision taken by the Supreme Court is to ensure that the career of the students will not be put under jeopardy for a long time because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Life must move on even at the hardest of time.
